EFI, TPS and DTC code checking plug

So you tested the TPS ? Is the MAP sensor in tolerance ? It has to be something since you tore it down. It worked fine before.
You only have three sensors MAP , TPS and ISC

I did not test any of those. I adjusted the TPS, but that was it. I figured that if they were bad, they would trip the computer and throw me a code, but perhaps not??

If I do this again, I'll have to bring it over to my friend's house again. Cold temps and plastic parts/wires don't work well together as you know.

I did test the air temp sensor though (which contradicts my mindset).

I re-read some of this post and the service manual today and getting more confused? But I got some coffee in me now.

So I looked at diagrams. I think the lingo and locations got me crossed up. This EFI stuff is new to me too.

So the IAT (intake air temp) sensor is in the airbox. This is what you test at 68F and it was good. Yes the manual doesn't go less then 68F, I find that interesting but must be some logical explaination.

The MAP is on the throttle body and it tested with a voltmeter? Should be pretty easy. I would try this next. Sevice manual has wires and voltage info.

If that is good I would test the ignition coil when the machine is cold and see if your getting good consistent spark then.

Sorry four ! I was tired lol
IAT intake air temp
ISC idle speed controller
TPS throttle position sensor
MAP manifold absolute pressure
It is an open loop EFI system so no O2 sensor

I'll have to check that next week. Leaving for Lake of the Woods tomorrow morning.

I thought about the coil, but then thought about it more. Once it starts, I can turn it off and it'll fire right back up like normal. Wouldn't that eliminate the coil from the conversation?

How do you check the fuel pressure on these things? Do I need a special tool to do that?

I'll check the sensors though for sure. Yes, the IAT tested out fine. Thought that was my huckleberry, but alas...no.

take a really close look at the wires going to the map sensor. They tend to be too short, and break inside the insulation.

What if any codes are you getting?
