i have a 400 auto 4x4. I rebuilt the top end and put a new battery/solenoid/starter on it. All i get is a click when i push button it. Any advise would be greatly appreciated!
Are you getting spark when you pull the rope? If you are grab a meter and make sure your cut off switches aren't killing it. See if it will run off the rope as well.
Ohm meter. There is a chance your solenoid was bad off the bat. This link will let you dl wiring diagrams to help trace the issue. Index of /pdf/Arctic-Cat-ATV-Repair-and-Service-Manuals As much as I don't like doing it have you tried using a screwdriver to jump the solenoid and spin the starter? I would start there first to make sure its not a starter problem then move to tracing the possible electrical. What year is that btw?
The solenoid will cross and about weld the wrench to it but only clicks. so my solenoid is good. i tested my (new) starter and it spins (not under a load)
