2002 artic cat 500 4x4 no start no crank pull start works HELP!!

Hey igot a 2002 artic cat 4x4 that only starts with the pull cord. the starter sounds like it is not ingaging. can anyone help me battery is fine thanks

Need some more info. What exactly happens when you turn the key ? Do you hear the relay click ? Does the starter spin ?

sounds like the starter is spinning, it whines not a schreech tho. the pullstart works fine and runs good

You're gonna need to pull that starter and have a look. My guess is that the flywheel is fine ( no missing teeth ). If you only had a couple of teeth missing then it would have caught by now. I have a feeling that when the starter is in your hand the problem will reveal itself.

nope inner case broke and the gears fell off and snapped stator cover and inner case. bike will never have an electric start ever again unless i replace the case which i am not doing. any idea s on what i should do with this bike ?? sell it with a pull start only??

If the stator is damaged then the atv won't charge the battery. I would part it out or if you don't want to bother shipping all of the parts sell whole. Sorry to hear about this. GL.

Got a 2003 artic cat automatic 400 4x4 wont start with the push botton but starts fine with pull start took out starter no missing teeth and starter runs when hooked up directly but one thing we need to know is does the starter tip push out like others or not and if not then what else could the trouble b clicks when u push botton but wont turn it over
