Automatic transmission engagement delay

When shifting my auto transmission lever between forward or reverse, it doesnt engage immediately. There is a momentary delay before it grabs. If I give it some throttle, then it clicks in right away.

The shift linkage has adjusters on it. Is that how I eliminate this?

Could just be that your idle is set too low. Try bumping it up a hundred or two RPM's and see what happens.
