Sno Pro 600 power valve broken.

I was doing a little maintenance on the 2011 Sno Pro 600 XC I just picked up and found the stator side power valve broke off where the shaft of the power valve meets the valve(it is a one piece unit). Checked the cables, they look ok, pulled the pto side out and slid it down the broken side opening in the head and it feels like it has about the same amount of play compaired to the unbroken side . Just wondering if any of you guys that race or own one of these sleds has every heard or seen this. Called the dealer and they don't ever really work on this model so they never have seen this before on this sled or any other models. The part number for the power valve is only used on the Sno Pro 600 so it may be made a little lighter who knows. I'm just wondering if something else caused this or a power valve is all it will need. Thanks for your help.

This has happened to me as well. Getting it to the workshop tomorrow. Looks like the part where the wire attaches to the piston is broken. The "pipe" where the wire enters is loose from the head cover of the valve.
Was yours also like this? What needed to be done?

Mine was broke right where the round portion (like the stem)meets the valve. It was broken off flush with the valve almost like it was two separate pieces. Talked to the previous owner and he or any anybody at the race shop had seen this. The pipe that you had mentioned was tight on mine. Only thing I found was the broken valve was sticky in the head. I cleaned and polished both ports in both heads and when i slid the the new valve in both heads it felt tighter and slid smoother than the old one that wasn't broken. I think the old valve was worn and gummed up and it cock to one side the cable pulled it and snapped it off. That power valve is only used on the race sled according to the Arctic Cat dealer. So it may be made a little lighter, who knows or mine may have had a casting flaw. After new valve was installed i have put on 500 miles with no problems with either valve. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Meant to say previous owner or his engine tech or the Arctic cat dealer he works with have never seen a broken power valve on this engine. The Cat dealer wanted the broken valve back to inspect.

its actually somewhat of a common failure on older 600 mods, like the 2006,7 sleds. In 07 they made an improved valve which they said would reduce the problem. never said it would cure it, funny. If you look at the 440 race forum on hcs you can read about more incidents with this. if your dealer was more into the racing scene, he would probly know about it.
