If you port and have the proper pipe do you have to use higher octane gas like 93? This would be with no high compression heads and stock timeing. Anyone know?I dunno
I still run 87 in mine after porting and new pipe. You'll likely need to jet up, but with no increase in compression, you should do fine on regular fuel.
Thank you for your response, I have a pipe for a ported motor.BMP FATTAZZ pipe withe their porting. I got rtid of the timing key and heads because of the gas situation.
I'm not clear on weather the people answering you have the same sled, or are just answering in general. I own older performance sleds, to get 150 # compression, I had to cut the heads in two of them, on the 3rd it had 160 untouched.
Know you own personal sled
I ran 87 with mike napp ported jugs and fat *** on a 04f7 be sure to check the wash on both pistons with a bmp port I would not feel safe with out dual egt
Did you add fuel top and mid? I have boondocker and working on numbers ,6700 to 7800 rpms added alot of fuel to start, working on reducing fuel with plug and wash checks in these ranges, Thanks for reply on 87 octane.
