Does anyone have any tips or tricks to changing the belt on my Prowler?

I remove the floor on mine, gives me plenty of room to work. I understand on the XTZ that the fuel tank needs to be moved. High impact wrench is needed! I also recommend installing a new nut on the fixed plate on the primary. It is cheap insurance compared to having the nut back off while running and destroying the splines on the fixed plate. The gasket on the covers are reusable if you are careful. Good Luck!

You should be able to do it in 3 hours or less. I have the 700 XTX so I don't have to pull my gas tank. I can swap belts in mine in about 1 hour depending on the number of coffee/beer breaks! There was a post on cutting the clutch cover in half that allowed belt changes without taking much apart. Not sure even with the cover cut that it is doable! I think there is good info on You Tube that may help.

I was just curious, I don't like starting on things of that nature and having to break away from it. I'm definitely not cutting the case, I ride in mud and water frequently.

Like I said, I'm not sure if cutting the case would be a good thing! Like you stated about mud and water, plus I think the case also supports the primary clutch shaft. How is the ThrottleMaxx working for you? That is one of the best things I've found for mine!

So I thought my belt was bad because it seemed like it was slipping. However to my surprise it looks good. Not sure why in high gear with a load in the bed it wants to slip? What else can it be? Rear end?

Also.....while I have it open, how do you loosen the belt. I know on my Yamaha, you screw in bolts on each side of the clutch and it spreads it open.....is this the same way?
