Has anyone got a new C-tec2 8000 yet? What is your opinion? I see Country Cat has them ready for sale.

just took a look at one. The fit and finish of the new plastics is very good and they snap on and off very easily. It is a well done sled. The motor looks like a motor.

"Engine" Greg... "Engine".... "Internal combustion"

"Motor" applies to electrictronically powered systems...

Sorry for the grammar Nazi'ism......

I hope someone gets one of these for some opinion on them. I believe they will be similar to the 6000 C tec 2 as far as oil and fuel consumption with the usual high HP but have to wait and see. Who's going to pull the trigger?

I'll correct the "grammar Nazi" for ya Greg:

Definition of motor
1
: one that imparts motion; specifically : prime mover
2
: any of various power units that develop energy or impart motion: such as
a : a small compact engine
b : internal combustion engine; especially : a gasoline engine
c : a rotating machine that transforms electrical energy into mechanical energy
3
: motor vehicle; especially : automobile

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/motor

So TECHNICALLY, Greg is grammatically correct calling an internal combustion engine a "motor" .....

Sorry Rusty.... had to

Couldn't resist

Not disagreeing what the "engine" of the snowmobile is.... but an "engine" , in this usage, is also a type of motor, so Greg is actually not wrong in what he posted.

And an ENGINE can be something other than what is used to power a vehicle also. So not limited to just an internal combustion engine. Actually, the term internal combustion engine is actually related to the complete group of mechanical apparatus used in combination... such as the term fire engine relates to the complete unit that is used to fight fire... not just the method it is powered by.

Sled: 2014 Eltigre
08-09 Mileage: 1000
07-08 Mileage: 3000
06-07 Mileage: 1200
2008 Mileage: 300
If the early release was a Limited, Eltigre, or RR I would have been tempted but I guess I can wait another few weeks and order one for next year. If Polaris has a long track XCR it's going to be a tough decision though.

I'm going thru the same thing... want one just because I want to see how well it works (or doesn't....which I'm confident isn't the case).... but wish it was "more" than the SP ES model......

If I could figure out how to "demo" one for the rest of this season and still pre-season a full production 2018 WITHOUT losing my ass financially, I'd be on one tomorrow....

Any ideas on making this happen Trev ????
