2008 Crossfire 1000 Sno Pro VS 2014 ZR 8000RR

Hello everyone, I own a 2008 crossfire 1000 Sno Pro, it has a mountain seat, fox floats obviously, and a 136x1.75 track otherwise its stock. I am wondering how different the 2014 ZR 8000RR is? Will it be as fast or faster? What hp and torque do they claim? Is the chassis or suspension or handling etc much better? IS it worth the $15,500 on payments (I don't have that much cash) to upgrade to the new sled? In my opinion the crossfire is a pretty awesome sled but I love the looks of the green RR. Are there any known issues it has? Thanks!!!
-Tyler

the only thing the 1000 will have on the rr is the top end run on the lake. The rr will turn in a trail, ride good at high speeds, not have terrible body roll, the handle bars wont swing into your chest, better riding position. I had a 06 700 xf and my sno pro 500 was 100 times the sled the xf was. I also have an rr

Is it worth the upgrade performance wise at $15,500?? For me I ride hard ditch banging powder drifts jumps bashing in gravel pits river bank jumps etc with high speed field racing mixed in. If I ride with my aunt and uncle I grudgingly ride trails but 95% of the time I am riding off trail. I tried a backflip on one of my older custom sleds last year. I just got this crossfire this year with 3800 miles a mountain seat and bigger track for $5500. My concern is if the crossfire 1000 with belts and motor mounts will be reliable or not..... mounts look fine. Oh and I have an 03f7 sno pro stock but it doesn't compare in any way to my xfire 1000

if you are riding like that the RR is what you want. The firecat and XF are not even in the same leagae as the RR. The XF handles like a dump truck. The XF is more comparable to a fire cat than the RR. that is why my xf was sold and I got a sno pro 500 and now a rr to go with it. If you ride like that all the time the rr is so much farther a head performance wise you will crap your pants. I have had 2 firecats, 1 crossfire, many zrs ect. I would take a zr over a firecat or xf any day of the week.

They didn't make a 2013 ZR8000RR did they?? I know my dealer pretty well, have known him all my life, he is a good fair guy but he is waay too busy and seldom can answer questions on the phone due to being too busy to take the phone call and almost NEVER will return a call..... Imma 2 stroker smoker 4 life!! I am addicted to the racy look of the 2014 RR and I LOVE the GREEN and the TWO STROKE and the RACE suspension! I know my dealer was clearing out the 2012 XF800 SP for $9,999 this fall regular $13,500 before taxes and other silly fees...... I kind of liked that sled and almost bought one but I got the 2008 Crossfire 1000 Sno Pro instead for $5500. But now I REALLY want the 2014 RR.

Also, do those sleds have any issues that anyone knows of? I will be paying for that sled for a couple years, its a ton of money so I just want to make sure I am going to be getting a reliable sled I can get many years of use out of..... Thanks!

yeah they made a 2013rr.. The 2013 has the real race skid in it. The 14 has a beefed up consumer skid. They were blowing out 13rr 800s for 9999 out here.

The 13s were called F800RR, not ZR8000RRs, but it is the same sled. They made the 13s in all white, all green or split green/white. The 13 green is a little different color than the 14s but the look is very similar. The biggest problem guys have had with these sleds is some are belt eaters, but many are not. The 14s have a "new improved" secondary clutch and an additional vent in front of the clutches. The 13s can get the updated clutch for cheap and they have a heavier race rear skid as Greg pointed out already. If you can get a good deal on a 13, I'd jump on it. If not, you might want to wait and try to get a leftover 14 at the end of the season or over the summer.
