2015 Turbo Yamaha 1049 Triple??

So is AC going to throw a turbo on the 7000 series Yamaha triple to replace the Suzuki 1100???

I was going to trade the old F8 in for a turbo after the next riding season, but I dont want to miss out on a new turbo if AC does a way with them in 2015 since Suzuki is out and Yamaha is in.

Not unless they have the motor ready for bikes as there is no way you are going to mount a turbo on it with the exhaust coming out of the back of the motor. Rumors going on that the motor is getting re-worked to get the exhaust coming out the front which would possibly give it room but with the radiator there, lots of re-engineering.

The 7000 engine coming out for the 14s have the engine exhaust out in the front. I saw Yamaha offering a turbo and supercharge kit for the 14 models this year so who knows what cat will do next year with the 1049 engine if this is last year for suzuki.

Sorry to disagree with you on this but the exhaust exits out the back of the motor under the fuel tank then is routed to the right side of the sled to where all cats have there exhaust routed. The Nitro is the sled that they offer the kit for. No room under the exhaust as it is on the Viper right now but maybe in the future if they re-do the motor to make it Bike worthy.

Pretty easy to be fooled when you look at where the can sits in it. Looks to be a bearcat to work on. Wonder where the oil filter is on that thing. I am a two stroke guy so never going to have to look. Lol!

My dealer told me that Cat has signed a three year extension with Suzuki for the 1100 motor. I don't think a Yamaha turbo is coming anytime soon.

There is plenty of room on the ZR7 and the Viper to mount a turbo.
They are being worked on by the aftermarket as we type
