2012 sleds

I like them,WOW, Cat you really did it. Like the looks, with the frt small grab rail, the lxr storage bag with the clean look, without the straps. The rail. Even the Mid? height windsheild looks like it might work. Now for what I think is missing.--What about the 800,50th?? HELLO!--The Retro look! Yeap I would be sleeping in my dealers lot waiting to order one. 4 stroke NO,- Turbo, Hell no,not for that price. Back to my real concerns. Gas tank is smaller. Where are the weights? The wheels in the rail are they going to be a formed wheel with the bearing in it. Or did they learn from Yamaha, and go back to one I can change bearings in. What about HP,? I know they just threw them out thier, and they may suprise us,(with a 800) also weight will be at the front of everything. And I cant wait to see one. They do look cool. Good job CAT.-- We will ALL see next years snow if they deliver,

I have to add this, what about this new motor?? And did you forget about the the 600 market. You know the one with all the 600 e-tecs, thats killing you. Yes the 800 may be fast and good on fuel, but its a 800. If I had a dime for evey 600 e-tec I saw on the trail, that Turbo Would be free. Hell a nickel would probably do it. Once agian I find myself asking, does anyone at the factory ride, or even own a sled. Sorry for the negativty, but come on,really no 600? In the new chassic a 600 looks like it would be killer, may even live up to the banana.

Do you not think Cat does market research? Motocross riders said the same thing when the manufacturers dropped the 250 two stroke, the most valuable segment, for 450 four strokes.

Four stroke sleds are the future. Yamaha has known this for some time. I think by consolidating the motors to the 1100/t will save them quite a bit of money in manufacturing/r&d costs as well.

I like the move Cat is signaling to the market. ATV's and motocross have made the move, so to me it's writing on the wall for sleds.

2012 is the final year of EPA made specs to date and with the EPA in trouble with the Feds, I dont think you will see anything else to hamper the 2 strokes (no self respecting sledder can claim that a 4 stroke belongs in a snowmobile and not feel a little sick) will be around for a long long time. I actually see 4 strokes going the way sooner. The 600 will be back and better than ever after doing some research. Just have to be patient I guess.

Smile Well

I bought a F8LXR because the 600 was nonexsitant, in my eyes. They need to compete with the e-tec if they want more market shares. That means a 600. I have passed more Doo's this year than in years gone bye. Most of them 600 E-TECs. Prior to the F8 I had 2 600's, 97 ZRT and a 2000 triple touring which I rode till 2010. I love triples but they are gone. Twins in the ZR and F chassis worked great so give us a 600 we can be proud to own, PLEASE.

I have riden a 600 and a800 etec and it was a good thing for the owners and the sport. Low emmission and better fuel economy, good in the publics eye.

The more I see the new stuff, the more I like my ZRT 600. My wife loves her F7, but not for me.
