Is there a way to get scratches out of goggles or lenses?

Does anyone know of a way to get scratches out of snowmobile goggles or lenses?
I have heard to polish them with lighter fluid. Does this work?
What do you do?

I use the Novus Plastic polish products. They come in 3 grades, one for heavy scratches, one for light scratches, and one for finishing and anti-fog. Works pretty good, but if you have gouges, nothing will work.

For small scratches Pledge furniture polish works wonders on any kind of plastic.

I don't fail, I succeed at finding out what doesn't work.
