Thumbs up

Can anybody tell me what the ohms are and what wires on a cdi box for a 1992 wilcat. my brother has a zr580 and has 0.06 ohms out of two different sets of wires. mine only has ohms out of one set the other set starts to ohm and imeadiatly go away. anyonwe know the deal with these i have 3 boxs that dont ohm out like the zr580. this maybe my problem. going to steal his cdi box and try it on my wildcat 700 to see if it works.

The cdi box with ohms out of two sets of wires and the sled ran great.

I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong, but the CDI is a solid state device. You can not do resistance tests on a component like this and get any kind of usable data.

Versatileman is correct! There is no reliable way to ohm-test a cdi-box!! It contains a lot more than wire windings like in the ignition and stator..
Cdi means Capacitive Discharge Ignition and the box contains capacitors, IC-circuits that control ignition timing and more.

But congrats on finding your problem anyway!!
