Hi I am new to this site and was looking for some advice. I am looking at purchasing a 2003 570 panther (1200 miles,5000 cdn) or a 2002 pantera 550(2500 miles, 6000 cdn). I am wondering which is the better machine for my money. I plan on mostly groom trail riding with some 2 person touring.
Tks for you help!

The panther 570 would be the better buy for the money with less mileage. Both engines are very reliable and also similar in power output. The only major differences is that the panther is fan cooled and the pantera is liquid cooled. The pantera is also 'loaded' up more with saddle seats, passenger handwarmers, reverse, etc. If you will be doing alot of 2-up riding and lots of mileage the more comfortable pantera may be worth the extra money but if not I would go with the Panther.

I personally own a 2002 Pantera 550 and I think it's one of the best sleds Cat has ever made...always reliable...extremely comfortable ride for both passengers and Mrs. Lucky just loves the hand warmers in the back.....good storage space and 15mpg....at 80HP it will go plenty fast for a big tourer....I have no thoughts of trading or selling him......he's ready for the next season as I speak...
