Replacing Brake Pads on '91 El Tigre EXT - I am about to do this for the first time. Using the CLYMERS shop manual. Bought the brake pucks(pads) (#0115-603) - Any pitfalls, or things I should know that the book doesn't mention? looks pretty straightforward. THX

Might want to check and /or replace the woodruff key that keeps the brake disc to the cross shaft from rotating. Just checked my 89 wildcat and the key was worn down from .250" down to approx. .170" in one area in thickness. the slot in the shaft was also tapered .015" from bottom to top ..bottom being on size for the key and worn large at the top. Im assuming your setup is simular to mine. Sled has only about 2500 mile on it with that kind of slop. You can probably do a spot check by rotating the disc and see how much slop you get by hand. Mine if I remember correctly had about 1/2 on the od of the disc BEFORE I replaced the parts. I just hate the thoughts of what could happen if that keyway snapped when you need the brakes.

Hope that helps
