Wheels froze up solid -ice and dirt thawed it with heat gun . When I got it broke loose it wouldn't move in 2 wheel drive left rear would spin--right rear nothin--- in 4-wheel it would move ok. Could I have snapped a rear drive joint . Will be heading out to get on trailer and bring back to town. It was 10 degree's or colder for 2 days, it had been driven thru water in ruts each day all deer season.

Sounds like a broken cv joint. Or you stripped the splines on the axle or hub.

I was kind of thinking I broke something. At least it happened next to last day of deer season. Hope it was the cv joint, will go after it Wednesday. Thanks but I can't say you made my day! It it what it is, I'll just have get it here and thaw it out. And hope for the best..
Didn't make it out and today Thursday snow cold 11*and winds 15 to 25 mph chill factor in the minus side. I'm getting to be a old goat 74 so I have to watch myself. Depends on snow depth and drifting snow if I can make it in camp.

New axels are here garage is heating. As soon as it warms will start on it. My son is not working today so if I have troubles can call and get help. Hoot

The joints were ok, I had snapped the shaft where it enters rim. Caliper side disconnected but foot brake stuck on brake disk I do have both bolts out.

Foot brake was disconnected probably why it is stuck-rust?

Finally got axle stub out, used sludge hammer to drive it out. Took foot brake calipher off and it is staying off. small brake cylinder is froze up. Rest of the axle came out after 4-5 pulls. My son will put new one in later tonight. All is good so far. Hoot
All done, ready to hook plow up. If I can find it in the snow. We have been getting enough.
