I know of 1 guy that runs a "Pro-Com Racing CDI box, says it raises the max rpms another 1,000 rpms. He swears by the AMF Racing coil, too. First, you should get a tachometer and see at what rpms it hits the governor. My 2001 AC 500 manual transmission will turn 8500 rpms in top gear with stock cdi box. Highest speed I've seen on the gps is 56 mph running 30" Mudzillas. I have never hit the governor, but when I see 8,500, I back off, the handling feels ok, though. Just verify what you are turning for rpms. Arctic Cats are more workhorses than speed bikes. They have a cdi box for the XC 450, I think, Cat happy BTW, we should meet up, I have some trails, that you won't want to go that fast on.
