Mustang fuel pump for 2010 700? Please help!!!

My fuel pump just got twice as loud this week, while idling. I'm leaving to go north next week and I don't want to get stranded in the bush. My closest dealer is 2 hrs away and he wants $550 for a new pump. I have read some guys are using a pump from the mustang. If so, can you please let me know how you are making out with this pump. My local parts store has one for $96. What a price difference. The bike is running perfect but it sounds like the pump has doubled its speed and noise while idling. The weird thing is, when the fan kicks on, the pump slows, and quiets back to normal, when the fan goes off , the pump speeds back up again. The only thing I did was put some Lucas fuel treatment in this tank, for the first time. Could this affect the fuel pump in this way? Any help would be appreciated. I get to go north once a year, and I don't want it to be ruined over a stupid fuel pump. Thanks again.

I still have mine in my 06, seems to be running fine. I lost my job and really have not been riding much. I put maybe 60-80 miles on the mustang pump and quad runs fine. Take the pump out and test it in a jug/tub of gas and make sure your getting 42psi.

also check the oring on the regulator. You could also just try to change the fuel filter on the pump. Maybe it is not getting enough fuel..

I'm not sure the mustang pump works on the H1 engine. Or has someone accomplished this arleady?
Is there an O-ring that could be replaced that helps the H1 700 or is the O-ring for the suzook engine only?
I need to find the info and add it to your original mustang pump replacement in the pinned section.

Yes some one used the mustang pump on their efi bikes. I did not do it, how ever there was a write up on it, and it was added to the wiki.

As for the fuel pressure i do not think there is an inline test port, you would have to add one or pull the line off before the filter and test it there with a barb hose adapter and what ever else you needed.
