Artic cat ATV starts well, but will not rev up, Idles fine

Sled: trash can lid behind the Dmax.
07-08 Mileage: 1/4 mile, then lid hit a tree.
ATV: 400 auto, 650H1
2007 Mileage: 500
2006 Mileage: 3500
Mine did that with water in the gas. My friends did that with a blown main fuse. Is your air filter dirty? Old plug? It could be several reasons, just need to weed some of them out.

As 400crasher said, you should eliminate the most likely causes first. Do you have fresh gas? Check the spark plug(s) and replace if needed. If the quad has been idle for a long time you should consider that the carb(s) are gummed up. If so, I recommend adding something like Seafoam or Techron to clean things out. Also do not neglect the air filter. As with all engines, you need spark, air and fuel to make things go boom.
