The Can Am is going to have 17-20 more horses than the Cat, so I'm definately looking for Cat's response in 2013. For 2012, we'll have to hope the Wildcat's assumed 95hp is true and that it will hold down the fort until then.

I'm sure cat will have a response but good money says whatever it is, is heavily detuned, choked down and still running on 10yr old diffs with the 3.1 gears to keep them from busting

For racing, it's awesome. For your average rube like myself, it's more than we'll ever need and likely will cause more accidents. Think of the sledders that have these amazing sleds that ride like they are on rails....what do you think people do when they're out on the trails and they get that testosterone boost that makes them try to see what their machine can do? They treat the trails like their personal race track and end up meeting someone else along the way head on. They are going so fast and there's no reaction time and death/injury occurs.

As a performance minded guy, I like to see improvements in technology. As a weekend trail rider who hopes to ride with his kids someday, this concerns me a bit.

The other thing is the price....who can afford these things in this economy? Suddenly my $6,000 650h1 seems very cheap.

Whats the torque rating between cat and can am? Horse power isn't what throws you in the back seat its torque. You can also have all the horse power in the world but its how you get it to the ground that makes all the difference.

Unless cat was to delete the wet clutch system they'll never launch like a Can-Am regardless. I've rode a couple 800 Hams and they are impressive. The renegade is a rocket but there's no way I'd trade my cat for one (for what I do and how I ride).

I'm with Sanny on this one as well, a 6K H1 doesn't sound so bad now lol
