I use a car battery on mine. You won't fry anything as long as you are hooking up a 12 volt battery into a 12 volt system.

Correct. 12V is 12V is 12V. Do not hook them up in series though, as you won't have 12V...you'll have 24V and you'll fry stuff.

I run a deep cycle and have a 700 watt power inverter attached to the battery box. Portable power anywhere you go!

You must have to hook up a charger at the end of the day 'cause I doubt the charging system could keep that puppy charged. Especially if you are running tools off that inverter. Great idea though. Where is this car battery mounted?

Wrong. It'll charge at 14 volts nominal all day long. It'll last longer, run headlights and a winch without flickering, and have endless cranking power...and I just have the $60 off-the-shelf 600 amp cheapo battery. I don't have body panels, so mine sits on a custom fabbed mount plate right under my rear rack. I forgot to mention that it's maintenance-free.

I have run a 12v Caterpillar battery from a loader on mine for plowing. Never once did my hid's flicker while using the winch, hand warmers and the fan going. It just fit in between the bars on the rear rack.
