'07 700 EFI Problem

I noticed yesterday my '07 700 EFI seemed to sputter sometimes at low throttle. Also when backing up & I would gas it, it would sputter worse. Any thoughts what it might be?? I got it here in the shop ready to tackle it if I had an idea where to start. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

How is your compression??

I have a 1993 Wildcat EFI. I am doing a topend on both sides. I am doing it because I have piston issues on the clutch side. I broke a small chunck of the top of the piston off on the exhaust side. I can't find the missing piece??? I was wondering if that most likley went out the exhaust?? There is no damage to the cylindar wall so it couldn't have gotten in to the crank case... I think? I have heard in a case like this you are taking a big chance in not spliting the case. Anyone have any thoughts??

I had the same issue on my 2006 700.

checked everything didnt fix it. tps, timing,etc

savage said check the injector for junk in it, took it out cleaned it and reinstalled and BAM it was like a new quad again

Well this is the atv forum first off^^^ lol...as for the 07 700 kitty try checking the throttle postition sensor setting, if that's okay check your coil and cap connections and put a new plug in it. Have you messed around with the diodes lately? Lastly I'd check the injector for dirt or anything give it a good clean

I had pulled the battery out to charge up. I'm wanting to try triplej's idle speed control recalibration. I found the plug. It has 4 colors of wires going to it. Blue,Black,Green & Orange with white strip. Anyone know whic wires I jump accross to perform the recalibration??

I am having a similar problem with mine I pulled my blade off and now in high after about 1/4 throttle it spits and sputters like if you don't disengage the reverse override in reverse to back up faster. But in low it runs to full throttle without a hiccup it only is acting up in high......I changed the plug and still nothing please give me some insight so I don't have to wait 2 months to go rideing again due to our Cat shop being backed up with farmers and others rigs btw the unit is an 07 700efi with 723 miles
