1999 ac 500 4x4 regulator

Hello all,

new to ac and have found that the replacement parts are a little pricy, i have a 99 ac 500 4x4 and was wondering if any other regulator/rectifier will work from any other brand? Funds are super low right now and cant afford the 120.00 online, please help with any ideas, all will be appreciated

Hey ROBBIEANDJENNIFER, I am right there with you. The OEM replacement parts for Arctic Cat are pretty expensive. I recently replacement the regulator rectifier on my 2001 Arctic Cat 500 Man 4x4 with an aftermarket regulator from Rick's Motorsport Electrics. The part is back with a one year manufactures warranty. I found out about Rick's when I was watching Fishers ATV World on the Outdoor channel. All of there parts are made right here in the US and back by a warranty so you know you can trust them. I ordered mine right off the their website ricksmotorsport They also carried a replacement

for my Arctic Cat.

I got a chuckle when I read this. Having a 1yr warranty isn't saying much to the quality of the part. Now a lifetime or even a limited lifetime warrant is saying to me that I can trust buying a part, even though most times I don't. Heck even with a Lifetime warranty a part and be a crappy POS. I'm a Auto Mech and I can't count on both hands how many times parts with good warranties have prematurely failed. It's just nice to be able to get a new one when ever it fails. Would really suck to have a 1 year warranty and the part failed the day after the one year mark. LOL.

True spoolin,, but in the power sports industry,, 1 yr is better than nothing,, heck,, the oem mfr's will not wty any of their electrical components because they have no control over how or who installs them (and we all know there's some machines that get really hacked up and 'fro-gineer'd over the yrs now don't we?)

I agree with what you said cnote. Most retailers don't give a good warranty on electrical parts and I can understand why. It's becoming more of a standard now days to give a LT warranty on parts even some electrical ones. What I don't agree with is the lack of good warranties on ATVs or powersport products in general. They think it's because it's where we ride or ride over but you can own a new sports car or a new truck and do really damaging things to them and they have warranties that will in most cases cover them to at least 60k. With the technology thrown in newer ATV's they at the very MINIMUM carry a 5,000 drivetrain warranty but I believe a 10k one is perfect. 6 months is just saying, well our ATVs are built like crap and won't last you more than 6 months. LOL.
