Well, have another broke axle. 304 total miles and have broke 2 right rear axles. Its just a BAD design. Factory 2" lift, Factory 29.5 mud tires, Factory real stiff springs. VERY WEAK AXLES. Ok now that done whinning. Do you guys recommend gorilla axles or another brand, i dont have any experience in this area because the mud pro is my first utility quad. And i dont want to waste money on oem axles. Thanks for the help, and by far ARTIC CHAT is the best forum on the web.

Did not know that the factory had a 2 inch lift kit? That I can see putting alot of strain on the axle.

If you are going to run a lift and 29.5 inch tires you better get gorilla axles. Look into a set of remanufactured if your on a tight budget.

FYI: Stock MP's have the old style stiffer springs that give about 1-1.5" more GC then the other cats and OEM tires were 28" MST or Zilla's.

If you run 29.5 on any other brand your going to break axles too.

The MP doesn't have a lift. It has the GC due to the 28" tires and the older, stiffer suspension. That's where it gets 14" GC.

What were you doing when you broke this axel?

Not trying to be a pr*ck, im new to these type of quads and maybe i miss interpeted the info the dealer said maybe the 2 inch extra clearance ( lift ) was due to the springs, not sure. And i dont know why but im pretty sure i have 29.5" tires. i will definetly have to look again to make sure. And the only thing i have purchased is HID kits

There are some dealers that will put a lift, tires, winch, bumpers, ect on before it's sold to make a quad stand out or whatever. So it may have come with lift and 29.5's from a dealer but that isn't "stock".

And being a 2009 assuming it still has warranty your dealer should be covering it. I would milk the warranty free axles as long as I could.

That's some bad luck. I've worked mine pretty good with no damage, but only have 150mi on it. I'm pretty sure my factory tires were 29.5 zilla's though now I'm going to have to check and make sure. I will leave my MP completely stock through the standard warranty and extended warranty just in case I start losing axles or something. Though I've seen an axle pop on a guy's quad going through stuff that I would never have thought it would screw something up.
