ososlow, how did they ruin there gravel pit? Did you ask them permission to ride there? Down here in maine the gravel pits fall under strict regulations just to dig gravel out! I'm sure the pit owners didn't ruin it for you they just made it less of a liability for them!

We have a couple unused sand and gravel pits along some trail systems to burn the beans out after running some slow trails and marshes, and of course to bath the rides of their mud. I've always loved ripping around in them and tackling the steep dirtbike hill runs.

Wow, we sure have a lot of smart looking ATV's in our group membership don't we ??!!

I seriously need to get that motopro vid cam out of the box and onto the ATV this year !!

OMG that gravel pit looks AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish I could ride there we have a gravel pit here but Its not quite that cool, how deep is that water out in the middle? like 20ft deep? can you post some more pictures of that place, for some reason gravel pits always catch my attention, and that one is awesome.[/b]
The water was mostly around 2.5', there are a few spots that were around 4'. But I didn't go there, I only know because I have been ripping that place up for 10 years.
They actually destroyed it this fall. Every run we had up the hills they dug out and made impossibly steep. There are a few fun new spots, but I almost flipped over backwards quite a few times.

Here are a few pics anyway

rzr s playing on a break in a poker run

Quickly slapped this together
<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/58eNAglAuYU"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/58eNAglAuYU" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

What they turned it into

To the right you can see where the top of our run was.
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...w/P8291042.jpg
the run is behind that huge pile now
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...w/P8291047.jpg
I was too pissed to take pics of all the other climbs they destroyed.

Yea, they ruined it. It was great since that was a hub for all of our riding. We would meet up there, play a bit and decide which of 3 directions to go.
There's 5-6 more gravel pits, equally if not more epic than that one. But they're a little out of the way. I just need to start riding different trails I suppose
[/b][/quote]
Thats awesome, now I see the video though I think our pits are a good 4 times that size, but it still looks awesome and fun, your one picture with the atv by the water made the piles look a LOT bigger then what they were in your video lol, cool pics and video

It's crown land. Owned by the government. Riding there is no different than on logging roads, it's all use at your own risk. Logging companies get permits to excavate there all the time. This is the first time one has done this. All the other times they have improved hills and made them safer for us to ride. These guys made it a bigger liability by cutting into some downhills and now they have 20' vertical drops. They also made is possible to flip over backwards on some of the small hills (15'-20')
Thanks Romp. There are some massive pits I can get to as well. I will probably hit them up when I buy a dirt bike this spring.

ATV: 650 V2
2009 Mileage: 200

I just bought the green one and decided to give it to my wife for her BD because I sold her 400 auto at Christmas. It had snorkes, 2" lift and 27" outlaws.

I plan to snorkel this one for her, give her my 30" Zillas, 2.5" lift and a rear bumper. We will probably add some tunes to hers since she doesn't care about going deep. I will also do the exhaust mod because she doesn't want a loud exhaust and with 2" snorks, I will need to "free" up the exhaust flow some. I will have an extra exhaust just in case she doesn't like it.
