Darn, I chipped the paint off one fender on the quad, less than 150mi on it so far. Went through a couple of trees that were just a little too narrow. With my pizza cutter wheels sitting inside the , the passenger fender caught the brunt of it. I hear that several threads have gone around before with some of the Arctic Cat paint codes. Anyone have the codes for the Mud Pro metallic green? It might be new in '09. My dealer is closed today so I haven't asked them yet about the repair. I guess bottom line if its more than a $100 repair or so I might redo the whole thing in some HOK metallic green, or maybe Kameleon.

In addition to that. I'm getting some chips in the bumpers. A buddy line-x'd his racks (no bumpers) and it looks pretty good (was on his brand new machine). What are some opinions on line-x'ing the bumpers and racks on a new MudPro? Is it sacrilegious to mess with something that looks pretty darn sweet right from the showroom?

imo, bed-lining the bumpers with hi pressure is worth its weight in gold! i love mine and have had several others do the same that ride with me as well. its real nice if your stuck in a hole and dont wanna get out and hook up the strap, if your just in a slight bind and not BURIED a little bumper tag will get you out and wont chip off like the paint will and then be rusty the next time your out there!

Big fan of the bedliner on the racks. Linex would look real good.

SixOhh- What is "high pressure"?

They're talking 175 for the racks and bumpers. That seems pretty darn high. How's that stack up against what you all paid?

My buddy got his racks and a box done for 50. Though they did his truck bed three years back. I talked to the same place, though the tune might change with racks in truck and cash in hand.

I dont think thats to bad, they have to sand blast or sand the heck out of the stuff and then prime it then spray it all so i think thats not to bad.
and like was said it wont chip or scratch like paint/powder coating will.

That quote was with me doing all the prep. For Line-x the paint doesn't have to be taken off, just thoroughly sanded for good adhesion. Unfortunately they don't warranty the coating on quads at all, whether they do the prep or me. I'm hoping I can talk them down off that quite a bit.

Still nothing on the paint code. Talked to the dealer this morning and they've never dealt with fixing painted machines before. The service guy is going to call AC and see if they'll send him some touch-up paint. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but bottom line a lime green (heavy) metallic, or a green to gold transition coat would look pretty good.

$175 is way high if your doing the prep. That's the hard, dirty & time consuming part. I wouldn't pay more then $50 then. I would try someplace else. Rhinoliner come in a lot of colors, you might be able to get something real unique.
