2008 f1000

Hi everyone
I am going to be looking at a 2008 f1000 sled is this weekend to buy is thier any thing that I should know about before I go look at it.

Had a ZR 900 and loved it. Got a 2008 F10 SnoPro late last year. Like the F10 even better.

Cold starts are the biggest issue. The big f1 also likes to keep cool, so just be careful to hit up loose snow when you can to keep it happy. But in all honesty, awesome sled.... Wish I never sold mine.

Super Machine, unfortunately heavy to start up in the morning, but great driving pleasure.

studs

Well I own it now! put almost a 100 mile on tuesday now I have a question

I like it. I know it's a bit of a tank but after riding a old 97 ultra (wedge style) 3 years its pretty sweet.

My question is how many studs should I put in the track? It has never had any at all. I only trail ride an I am just looking to help it hooked up

10-11 Mileage: 1200
09-10 Mileage: 1100 ish
08-09 Mileage: 1000 ish
07-08 Mileage: 600 ish
ATV: none
If you have the snopro you should have the cobra single ply tack and you need to make sure you use the proper studs, backers, and nuts. I have an 08 snopro f1000 that i bought with the studs in it and i loose alot of studs but i dont think they put the correct studs in it. they come loose oval out the backer and push through into the inside of the skid and do all kinds of ruckus in there. I have only put about 800 miles on sled since ive owned and lost over a dozen studs easily, and im a less throttle is more guy on the trail i try to never spin knowing the results and you just wreck the trail and dont go anywhere. make sure you use the studs designed for the single ply track there is a difference.

Thanks 99 mine is not a snow pro.
How do I tell the difference from a signal ply to a two ply track

I would not recommend the above woodys pattern! My sled had the same pattern in it with studs on the outside, and no matter what studs I threw in it. I would not hook up very good. And I run 1.375" in my 1" lug. I since went to a classic v-pattern, and its night and day better. JMO
