2007 F6 LXR Upgrades / Modification Suggestions Please?

I totaled my 2005 Arctic Cat F7 last year and ended up purchasing an 07 F6 LXR near the end of the season. I haven't had a chance to ride it much but will be heading to Wawa on 1/25.

I'm going to be prepping for the trip this weekend and am looking for any suggestions on upgrades or modifications for the lxr. Currently the lxr is all stock. The little bit of riding I did last year makes it hard for me to know exacly what I may want to change but this is my first big trip up to Canada and want to make sure I make the best of it.

I plan to add studs - I'm thinking 102 in a V pattern as opposed to Woody's suggested 153 and I'll upgrade to a 6" carbide.

I'm thinking about changing the factory skis - considering C & A Razor skis.

I was a little disappointed in the lxr performace off trail (got stuck a couple times in deeper snow).

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. My emphasis at this phase in life is on control, comfort and safety.

I do most of my riding in Michigan (northern lower penninsula near grayling/gaylord) with hopes of a trip or 2 to the UP or Canada annually.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hi, congrats on your purchase

Studs, you'll be fine with that on ice, stock track is fine on harder packed trails, falls flat on it's face once it's loose or deep. Difference in my son's '07 with a 1.25 Ripsaw is huge.

Skis, SLP-SLT's are a perfect fit, running them on ours, great bang for the dollars spent. If even more bite is what your after, opt for Simmons Gen III's, everything the SLT's are and then some but do scrub a lil top end speed off along with a tic of fuel mileage.

Now for your must do mod, stock clutching is horrific, sled is a toad with AC's stock set up. BMP Stage II kit (with Dalton adjustable wts) PLUS a Dalton step shim under the spider will totally transform it's performance. Never seen a sled come so alive, best money you'll ever spend.

Be sure to add a bolt through the lower control arms to prevent the sway bar links from coming off. Also put a hose clamp around the plastic sleeve on the bar itself or it'll wiggle n eventually fall off.

Thirsty lil bugger on oil but oil's cheap n engines are expensive. Yes the pump could be cut back but it likes rpm n a lil extra oil is never a bad thing.
