Just purchased a 2008 F 1000 Sno pro

Hi everyone after a 6 week search I purchased a 2008 F 1000 Sno pro that is orange black and white It has 2400 miles cobra track 1.25 lug and 153 studs I want to install a clutch kit and plowman mount and possibly a Y pipe do I require a fuel controller if I install a y pipe? which clutch kit for trail riding is best recomended and as I am a heavier guy does anyone know of part number for big boy springs for the rear suspension and any known quirks of this model I should look out for? Also the belts on these sleds appear to be kevlar correct? can a belt from a F 8 be substituted to save money without ill effects? thanks

D&D or similar Y pipe with Boondocker is strongly suggested. While providing extra insurance against a burn down it also means you can stick with regular vs premium fuel.
Clutch kit, tested lots of different combos in my '07 + '08, best to date is the Stage II torsional kit from BMP, suggest you shim the spider for best results. It's a plug n play kit that works extrememly well in a hot trail sled.
Plowman mount = absolute must have.
With the above you'd expect to run 1500 - 2000 miles on a belt, makes even the expensive 060 belt very affordable to use. Best to buy em in bulk packs off ebay, works out to about $115-$120/belt.
Sled has a ton of rear spring in it stock, I'd first try servicing the shocks n riding to see how you make out / set of alum rear blocks gives you more spring adjustment if req'd.
Good see another F rider in Ontario / I'm in Scarberia / my F10 is for sale / riding an '11 800 HO Ltd next year.

People are raving about this plowman mount! What does one of these cost? It might have to be a summer upgrade for my F8!

Mount is one of the few products you'll purchase that works even better than it's described.
Search under plowman mount in the F forum over on HCS or if you can't find it pm me and I"ll look Don't info up.

Sled: 07' F8 Sno Pro
i just bought a plowman recently it was 149$ for the mount, clutch alignment tool, and a nifty lil led flashlight, its a must have, i wasnt sure at first but i bought one anyways, and it made a big difference on my 07 f8 sp, very nice people do do buisness with

Thanks guys. Frankenstein, I'm running an '07 F8 SP too. Ihavent done any mods except the clutch kit. That was on it when I bought it. Gonna do the mount and the air intake mod. Not sure what else is on the agenda for it yet!

Thanks ZR I am definately going with a plowman mount and a clutch kit I am still on the fence about a Y pipe I have 2 riding buddies with F 8,s and am blown away with just the addition of a ypipe how those engines come to life I take it that 800 fuel mapping Is richer than the 1000 as the 800 plugs still read quite rich even on the coldest of days. Is it me or does the performance shops close the doors once the trails close as I sent emails to the big 3 and none have replied ?
