Question 660 4 stroke engine cutting out

I have a 2003 660 4 stroke bearcat. The engine has been cutting out after riding for about 45 minutes. If I let it cool down for about 10 minutes it is good for another 20 minutes. I just replaced the fuel filter. Any sugestions on what to check?

Sled: 06 T660 T.T
10-11 Mileage: 1000
09-10 Mileage: 700
08-09 Mileage: 1200
07-08 Mileage: 600
Could be a bad temp sensor causing it to think it's too hot and shut the engine down .

Thanks, I will try anything at this point, temp sensor make sense...

By "cutting out" do you mean shutting off? Or just losing lots of power? If your just losing power it's probably the over temp limp mode kicking in. Your temp light should be on if that is the reason.

What are snow and driving conditions?

By cutting out it goes to idle and will not move. If I try to press it it will die out. It has done the same thing under different snow conditions, the first time was after a 24 inch snow fall with loose snow. Next time was soft snow after a hard freeze. Next time I tries to induce it, it was hard pack... No Idiot lights...

Mine was doing the exact same thing a couple weeks ago. It was only after driving in real deep snow at higher speed lake running. I know that lots of snow was getting under the hood and I assumed that is what was causing it. It did it a few times over a week in those conditions. At the end of the week I took it home and thawed it out in the garage. It hasn't done it since. Only been on trails though.

Thanks, it has had snow blown in the engine, do not have a heated place, maybe the trailer on a warmer day. Thank you for the info...

Cool Feedback

The temp sensor arrived and I replaced it. Put the sled in my trailer two days in a row with an electric heater on. Rode it this weekend and the exact same cutting our happened... Not sure what to do now...

Mine is still doing it, but rarely. I'm going to look into replacing the Idle Speed Control and/or the Throttle position sensor.

Unhappy Left Behind

Off to Maine next week to ride the Jackman area. Bearcat gets left behind, cutting out does not work on long rides... First time I have been disappointed in the Bearcat...
