Sled: 04 t660 turbo and 04 F7
08-09 Mileage: 500
07-08 Mileage: 500

I just bought a 04 t660 turbo touring with about 3000 miles. I don't have a service manual yet, can anyone tell me how much oil to add and where the oil filter is? I bought mobile 1 syn 5-30 and a new filter. Is there anything else I need to know about this sled before I ride this year?

For the turbo model , A/C recomends synthetic 0W 40 . I personally would not run 5W 30 oil because it oils your turbo ( esp in cold weather ) and this engine runs alot of boost .
The oil filter is right at the front of the engine and in the middle .If memory serves , you have to take the air silencer tube off to get at it . It's a tight fit for normal oil filter wrench . I had to buy another one that looks like channel lock pliers to get at it and turn .
It takes just around 3 quarts .

I forgot to add that at 3500 mi , A/C recomends inspecting the valve lash . Your service manual might say 7000mi , but new owners were given a bulletin with the sled . There's a bit of debate weather or not to follow this , but i hear it takes about 45 min to check , so i know i will when the time comes .
Also , don't know if you have an owners man. but to check the oil your supposed to pull the dipstck and wait 30-60 sec before actually taking a reading . i guess the oil init. gets pulled up the tube with the dipstick and you can get a false reading if you don't wait .
