Ford Dealership Tries out the Arctic Cat Brand ***UPDATED
Apr 04, 2014 - 12:22 PM - by NickJ

Strange things are a brewing in Nebraska. The town of Minden has a Ford dealership that has decided to double down and start offering the Arctic Cat line right next to the F150's, Superduty's, and Focus's (Foci? Not sure how to pluralize that.). Big John has decided to draw on his experience of owning a John Deere dealership during the years prior to getting into the Ford game.

The rural town has a unique draw for such a business model. It is smack dab in the middle of farmland. Minden also sees a large cattle auction with a coinciding trade show, and the annual Nebraska Cattleman's Classic which draws loads of farmers and ranchers to the town from the surrounding area.

Since the introduction, Big John has seen several complementary buys. Someone walks in to buy a Ford and walks out with a Ford AND and Arctic Cat, and vice versa. Seems like a good fit!

The dealership has not been doing it long enough to say for certain that it has boosted sales, but it is certainly a great idea! I wonder if the plan could work anywhere else in the country. I find it odd that they are keeping the web presence separate though. They have a page for the Ford Dealership and a page for the Arctic Cat side as well. I could not find any links on the Ford page to the Arctic Cat side. Perhaps it has something to do with Big Brother FoMoCo.

Check them out here: ARCTIC CAT for Sale | ARCTIC CAT Dealer Minden | Big John's Ford | Minden, NE 68959

And here oddly: Big John's Ford - Your Minden Nebraska Ford dealer for new Cars, Crossovers, SUVs, Trucks, Commercial Trucks and used vehicles sales and service. Located at South Highway 10, Minden, Nebraska 68959.

Sauce: Auto dealership brings Arctic Cat into the mix | Powersports Business

****UPDATE: So they have 3 sites. I assume that the .net is the one that they show FoMoCo, the .com is the one they advertise, and the link above is the microsite for Arctic Cat. Check out the .com here: Used Cars Minden | Used Car Dealers | Big John's Ford | Minden, NE 68959

TEAM ARCTIC Wraps UP Lake Geneva Snocross and Terrain Championships
Mar 21, 2014 - 4:59 PM - by NickJ

Seven Class wins and Two Championship Titles in ISOC Snocross; 16 Class Championships in USXC Cross-Country

Thief River Falls, Minn. (March 21, 2014) – When the checkered flag flew to end the 2014 ISOC National snocross season in Lake Geneva, Wis., Team Arctic stood atop the podium with seven class wins, two class championships and a podium place in each of the five championship points classes.

As the final event of ISOC National season, Lake Geneva saw another historic crushing of the Pro classes by Tucker Hibbert and Marica Renheim. Hibbert was victorious each of the three Pro Open finals, bringing his season win total to 15 out of 17 possible. Marica Renheim was equally impressive, staying undefeated in season finals to record her eighth win. In fact, Renheim lost only once the entire season: a heat race at the season-opener in Duluth.

“Tucker and Marica’s performances this season set a new standard,” said Mike Kloety, Team Arctic Race Manager. “What makes their phenomenal win records even more honorable is the fact that both are great people and excellent ambassadors for snowmobiling.”

Having dominated their classes all season, Hibbert and Renheim also claimed their respective ISOC high point championship titles. In addition, Corey Watkinson capped an excellent season in Pro Lite with a third place overall title. Josh Zelinski did the same in Pro Am 30 Plus. And Travis Kern graciously accepted his second place point title in Sport despite being crashed out of the championship title by another racer at Lake Geneva while Kern was in third place, just two corners before the finish line.

Team Arctic’s contingent of USXC cross-country racers cleaned house in the season championship points war, taking the title in 16 classes including eight podium sweeps and 42 out of 60 championship podium positions. Zach Herfindahl capped his remarkable sophomore season in the Pro class by winning the Pro Stock championship and taking a close second in the Pro Open chase. Jolene Bute won yet another Women’s class championship. And Jon Arneson captured three class championships, including the tough-fought Semi Pro Stock and all-new Super Stock classes.

“The team’s performance in cross-country racing is unmatched in the sport,” said Kloety, and then added; “We dominated at the top end in the Pro and Semi Pro classes, as well as in the Junior, Sport and Expert 85 classes. Team Arctic’s current and future talent is exceptional, with class winners like Hunter Houle, Ryan Trout, Jon Langaas and many others pointing to dominance for years to come. I thank all of our snocross and cross-country racers, teams, crews and families for their dedication and excellence on behalf of everyone at Arctic Cat. It’s our greatest honor to build and support the snowmobiles that you race, and we’re grateful for your efforts.”

Victory Parade Continues for TEAM ARCTIC Terrain Racers
Mar 12, 2014 - 5:53 PM - by NickJ

13 Class Wins at USXC Cross-Country in Walker, Minn.; Plus Six Victories at ISOC Snocross in Glyndon, Minn.

Thief River Falls, Minn. (March 12, 2014) – Team Arctic terrain racers continued the season-long victory parade with another batch of wins, this time at the season-ending USXC cross-country in Walker, Minn., and the penultimate stop on the ISOC National Snocross tour.

The cross-country in Walker saw yet another impressive house-cleaning by Team Green, with 12 different racers winning a total of 13 classes on a twisty 6-mile course characterized by massive, unrelenting moguls and big berms. Arctic Cat racers showed their depth by taking 35 podium positions and sweeping six podiums.

“Our racers and machines win in all terrain and conditions – from the early season lake events to the gnarly ditch events and now at a lower-speed short-course event that had elements of a snocross course,” said Team Arctic Race Manager, Mike Kloety. “We ended the cross-country season exactly like we started it: with great racers and teams competing in all the classes, and with the most impressive results of any brand.

One hundred miles to the west of Walker, Team Arctic snocross racers showed similar depth at the ISOC National double-header in Glyndon. Tucker Hibbert scored another Pro Open win during the Friday program, but a first turn bump in Saturday’s final put him on the ground, in last place and chasing back to claim fifth. Team Arctic’s Cody Thomsen claimed a pair of third-place finishes, while Logan Christian of the Christian Bros. Racing team notched a second-place finish.

Team Green showed similar domination in the other classes, with Travis Kern and Tyler Adams exchanging wins in the Sport finals and Marica Renheim staying undefeated in Pro AM Women.

“By claiming four of the top-5 positions each night, this was the most powerful performance we’ve seen from our team in the Pro Open class all season,” said Kloety. “Plus it’s just as satisfying to see our racers taking wins in the Sport, Junior and Transition classes.”

The final stop on the 2014 ISOC tour is this coming weekend in Lake Geneva, Wis., where a tripleheader concludes the 2014 season. The next RMSHA event is Jackson Hole World Championships
March 20-23 in Jackson, Wyo.
